Counseling encouraged in aftermath of Westroads shootings
By Katie Knapp
Omaha, NE – Thursday's scheduled reopening of the Von Maur department store comes 15 days after eight people, including six store employees, were killed there. Company officials plan to hold a brief ceremony prior to the store's reopening to honor the victims. But the healing process in the wake of the killings at Westroads could take some time. Omaha Public Radio's Katie Knapp spoke recently with UNMC psychiatrist Dr. Todd Stull and Kris Hallstrom, a Crisis Supervisor from the Boys Town National Hotline, about the importance of seeking counseling following a traumatic event.
