Creighton University forward Doug McDermott is among this year’s first-team All-Americans.
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association released its list Monday of All-Americans. All five first-team All-Americans are on teams playing in the NCAA tournament. McDermott joins players from Kansas, Ohio State, Kentucky, and Michigan State on the list.
McDermott, a sophomore, averaged 23.2 points a game in regular-season play this year. That’s third-best in the nation. He was named Missouri Valley Conference player of the year, and Most Outstanding Player at the MVC tournament in St. Louis.
