Creighton named top Midwest Regional University by U.S. News and World Report

Creighton University is the top Midwest Regional University for the 11th year in a row, according to U.S. News and World Report.

The publication recently released its list of best colleges and universities. This is the 16th time in the past 17 years that Creighton has held the top ranking. Creighton Provost Ed O’Connor says the ranking is a major selling point when attracting potential new students.

"What it does for us, I think, in terms of admission, is they see that, they see Creighton receives a number one ranking, let’s go visit. And that’s all we’re after. If we can get students to campus, the university, the campus, the faculty, the staff, to support the students who are there, it sells itself."

The ranking is based on factors such as academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, and alumni giving. The complete list is available at www.usnews.com.

Drake University and the University of Northern Iowa rank fourth and 13th, respectively, on the Midwest Regional Universities list.
