Creighton president retiring in 2015

Creighton University President Father Timothy Lannon is retiring in June 2015.

Lannon was named Creighton president in July 2011. He says he wasn’t planning to retire so soon, but a health condition last November prompted him to consider retirement.

Lannon says there are still many projects he wants to accomplish before his retirement.

"A couple of things would include some projects, capital projects which at this point I can’t announce publicly, in addition to raise additional dollars for scholarship assistance, and we have a strategic plan, and to implement as many goals as possible of that strategic plan these next 15 months."

Father Lannon says he’s proud of what Creighton has accomplished with its partnership with Alegent Health, joining the Big East Conference, and naming the school’s first Provost.
