Creighton tops national rankings for the Midwest Region
By Cheril Lee
Omaha, NE – Creighton University has been named the #1 Midwest Regional university by U.S. News & World Report for the 9th year in a row.
Patrick Borchers, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Creighton, says the university has also been recognized for the fifth consecutive year as #1 in the Midwest region as a "best value" university. Borchers says all of these rankings recognize Creighton's good reputation and acknowledge the quality education the university provides.
He says Creighton wouldn't be #1 in any of these rankings if they didn't have a strong partnership with the city, "the fact that Omaha has had a dynamic economy, the fact that it's generally been a pretty well-governed city, the fact that it's committed to developing all of its neighborhoods, those are the kinds of things that really help Creighton stand out."
Criteria for the U.S. News ranking includes academic reputation, graduation and retention rates and faculty resources.
