Creighton University Medical Center, clinics now carry Alegent name

Creighton University’s medical clinics and hospitals have new names.

Creighton Medical Associates facilities joined with Alegent Health Clinic to become Alegent Creighton Clinics. Alegent Health bought Creighton University Medical Center and its clinics, finalizing the agreement in August.  Alegent Health’s hospitals and the former CUMC are now Alegent Creighton Health.

Alegent Creighton Health President and CEO Rick Hachten says Creighton Medical Associates and CUMC patients won’t notice much of a difference. "The same good care that’s been provided there is continuing. They now have the full support of our system to begin addressing any needs that they have. Patients with physicians in either the former CMA physicians or Alegent Health Clinic will see no change at all."

Hachten says the 800 employees of the former Creighton Medical Associates clinics are all now Alegent Creighton Clinic employees.

The agreement also expands Alegent's teaching affiliation with Creighton’s health sciences programs.
