Omaha, NE – A Creighton University journalism professor has written a children's book he hopes will help kids in Guatemala.

Jeff Maciejewski's book is called "Joey the Bunny Gets Lost." It's the story of a mischievous young bunny who gets lost in the woods while playing outside. Maciejewski says the book grew out of a story he created for his daughter, Sophia. When that story became a book, Maciejewski says he decided to donate all the profits to Constru Casa, a charity helping Guatemalan families. Constru Casa is helping to build schools in the village of Santa Maria de Jesus, where more children want to go to school than there is space available.

Maciejewski is working on a follow-up book called "Joey the Bunny Gives Back." In that book, Joey finds out other bunnies want to go to school but can't because of capacity. So he helps raise funds to build schools. Maciejewski says he wanted that book to tie directly in to the Santa Maria de Jesus school building efforts.
