Creighton University tops 10,000 applications

Applications for admission to Creighton University have topped 10,000 for the first time in the school’s history.

Mary Chase, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, says they will accept about 65-70% of students that are applying.

She says there seems to be some momentum surrounding Creighton right now with them joining the Big East for athletics a few years ago.

Chase says there’s also excitement surrounding the research opportunities available at Creighton.

"We have a 97% placement rate where six months after graduation, students are either enjoying a full-time position, entering graduate or professional school or doing volunteer service work of their choice.  And so our students upon graduation feel good but it’s also about the educational experience they receive here.  It’s the whole experience they are having, mind, body and spirit.”

Chase says the current profile of admitted students indicates more than 28% of the class scored a 30 or higher on the ACT.

And she says a quarter of those admitted ranked among the Top 10 scholars of their high school classes.
