Omaha, NE – Creighton University's Leaders for Life fundraiser lunch for women's athletics will honor the Husker Women's Basketball Coach.
Carol Ketcham, Senior Woman Administrator at Creighton University, says the money raised from the Leaders for Life Lunch funds women's athletic programs at Creighton. She says this includes both scholarships and facility enhancements. Ketcham says over the past 7 years, more than $200,000 has been raised for women's athletics. She says this year's Leader for Life award winner is Creighton alumna and former Creighton basketball coach, Connie Yori, "We have a committee of 10 business people, outside of the university and that was their unanimous selection that we set forward. Connie was instrumental in the growth of women's athletics at Creighton and has since moved on to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She leads by example, her work ethic, competitiveness and passion for the game of basketball is legendary."
The Leaders for Life event happens this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the DJ Sokol Arena. Ketcham says reservations are available through Thursday morning. Details are available online at www.creighton.edu/athleticevents.
