Omaha, NE – The City of Omaha and NCAA have a new Memorandum of Understanding in place. Both sides announced the agreement Wednesday.

April 30th was the deadline set by the NCAA for exclusive negotiations with the City of Omaha to end. The agreement will be signed by NCAA officials in the near future, according to a statement from Stacey Osburn, Associate Director for Public and Media Relations.

Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey says the agreement is between College World Series of Omaha Inc. and the NCAA. He characterizes meetings with the organization this week as productive. The Memorandum isn't the official contract, although Fahey says that could be signed within the next week.

Mayor Fahey expects Omaha City Councilmen will begin voting on items related to a downtown ballpark in mid-May. The new contract is not among those items.
