Omaha, NE – The Douglas County Assessor's office says resources are available for eligible taxpayers who have questions about the Homestead Exemption. Assessor Roger Morrissey says more than 13,000 applications went out earlier this month to seniors, physically disabled homeowners and physically disabled veterans. The Homestead Exemption is designed to provide property tax relief to those groups.
Starting Monday, eligible taxpayers can have their Homestead Exemption application questions answered. The Homestead Exemption Hotline can be reached at 402-597-6659.
19 help sites will also be staffed from March through June to provide assistance with the Homestead Exemption application process.
