The (downtown) Omaha Lit Fest Returns

The 9th annual (downtown) Omaha lit fest takes place Friday and Saturday, October 18th and 19th.

Timothy Schaffert founded the lit fest nine years ago.  He says the purpose of the event is to explore the process of creativity and encourage conversations about the publishing process.

Schaffert says the lit fest offers readers a chance to meet writers, to learn about the writing process and to ask questions about books.

He says the theme of this year’s lit fest is “Under the Skin,” where discussions will focus on literary obsessions and cult followings.

The two-day event kicks off with an opening night party.

"The event is titled “Carnival of Souls,” so it’s going to have a carnival theme.  We will have these great posters from AIGA Nebraska members – designers who are doing these kinds of creative reinterpretations of drive-in movies of the 50s and 60s.”

All events of the (downtown) Omaha lit fest take place in the W. Dale Clark Library.
