Early voting for Mayoral recall election strong

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – More than 8,000 voters have requested early voting ballots for the January 25th recall election of Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle.

The Douglas County Election Commission says another 2,375 have voted early. Early voting continues through next Monday. Election Commissioner Dave Phipps says he's surprised by the amount of early voting.

Phipps says so far, few problems have been reported in the early voting process. He says early voters should expect a 15 to 30 minute wait at the Election Commission office.

Polls are open 8 AM to 8PM next Tuesday. More information is available at www.votedouglascounty.com.
