Early Voting Numbers are Steady

Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian Kruse predicts a voter turnout for the 2016 Statewide Presidential General Election of 70% in Douglas County.

As of last Thursday, Kruse says the election commission has had over 90,000 early voting ballots either by mail or in person.

For those who mailed their ballots in, Kruse says there’s a way to check and see if your ballot has been accepted or rejected by going to the Nebraska Secretary of State’s website at sos.NE.gov.

"If their ballot has been rejected, they can contact our office and we can let them know what they need to do to get their ballot accepted.  That has to be done BEFORE Election Day so they can do it through Monday.  And our phone number is 402-444-VOTE (8683).”

The Statewide Presidential General Election is Tuesday, November 8th.  Polls are open from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
