Election Day in Omaha

Polls are open from 8am to 8pm today in Omaha and parts of Bellevue for the 2013 general election.

Omahans will choose who’ll represent the city as Mayor and on the City Council for the next four years. The City Council will have at least two new members.

There are also nine seats on the Omaha Public Schools board up for election. Earlier this year, the Nebraska Legislature approved a measure cutting the number of seats on the OPS board from 12 to 9. Subdistrict 8 includes part of Bellevue.

Election observers from the Department of Justice are in Omaha to monitor today’s activities.

Omaha Public Radio will bring you coverage of the 2013 Omaha election starting at 8pm.
