February's Omaha Press Club features Creighton's President

Father Daniel Hendrickson, president of Creighton University, was the guest speaker at February’s Omaha Press Club Noon Forum. Hendrickson started on July 1, 2015, succeeding Father Timothy Lannon.

Hendrickson’s first became acquainted with Creighton as a student in the Jesuit Humanities Program in 1996.  Later he served as an adjunct professor of philosophy at Creighton from 2000 to 2003.

During his presentation, Hendrickson was asked about an essay he wrote in the Omaha World Herald last Thanksgiving that emphasized gratitude and thankfulness.

Hendrickson said he had a lot to be grateful for about the new job but that one thing stood out.

"It’s the students.  I think the staff and faculty would say the same.  We are there because of the students.  It’s the reason for the institution and the kind of transformation we can offer in their lives.  Our students are great.  They speak about their hopes and voice their challenges.  It’s just wonderful to watch them unfold and to grow.  And they teach us a lot also.”

You can hear Hendrickson’s entire presentation on KIOS Monday, March 14th at Noon.
