Omaha, NE – Film Streams will screen METROPOLIS on Tuesday, October 5th.
The film will feature live musical accompaniment by the Alloy Orchestra. The orchestra has made a career writing and performing live scores to classic silent films. Orchestra member Ken Winokur says METROPOLIS is special because it was the first film the group scored. He says because the film was restored to its full-length, the score had to be re-done to cover 25 extra minutes of footage. Audience members will get to hear the new version on the 5th. Winokur says there's a big difference between watching the film with a pre-recorded soundtrack and having a live musical accompaniment. He likens it to a multimedia experience.
