Omaha, NE – CWS Omaha officials say ticket sales for this year's series are well ahead of previous years.

That's according to CWS Omaha Vice President Dan Morrissey, who attributes the interest to the series' final season at Rosenblatt. After six decades, the series will move to the new TD Ameritrade Park Omaha next season.

Morrissey says among the events celebrating Rosenblatt Stadium is a recognition of the first two CWS teams to play there. "The 1950 Texas team and the 1950 Washington State team, the first two teams to play for the national championship in Omaha back in 1950, will be here on the first day of the championship series for a special presentation of the national championship trophy," Morrisey says.

A video presentation is planned the last day of the series. Among the Rosenblatt items moving to the new ballpark next year are the Road to Omaha statue.

The College World Series begins Saturday. Florida State and TCU play at 1 PM. More information on this year's College World Series is available at www.cwsomaha.com.
