Omaha, NE – For the first time, the Wellness Council of the Midlands and the Wellness Council of America are partnering to offer a 2-day Wellness Summit.

Wellness Council Executive Director Howie Halperin says the event will offer workshops that highlight ways to implement physical activity into the workplace. He says that studies indicate that companies with wellness programs tend to have better worker productivity and less absenteeism. And Halperin says these aren't the only benefits, including people being screened earlier for cancer. He says because work is where people spend a lot of their time, "It's a great place to promote health and wellness."

The National Wellness Summit takes place next Wednesday and Thursday at the Qwest Center. Details are available online at wellnesscouncil.org.
