Omaha, NE – The first annual Omaha Heritage Festival takes place on Saturday, May 28th.

The festival is being sponsored by The Midlands Latino Community Development Corporation. Spokesperson Catherine Enoviso says the festival celebrates the cultures and countries that make up the Omaha community. The day long festival will include parades, live music and ethnic food vendors. Enoviso says, "They just wanted to have a way to bring something that wasn't very threatening, to have these different cultures around each other and really question each other about their values and their food in a way that's nonthreatening. You show up to these events and you taste the food. You listen to the music. You mingle with all the people around. And really the exposure, I think, really helps people understand the different cultures around us."

The Omaha Heritage Festival takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on May 28th at Lewis and Clark Landing. Everyone is invited to attend.
