Flood cleanup kits available in four Nebraska counties

By Katie Schubert

Omaha, NE – Residents in four Nebraska counties affected by Missouri River flooding can get flood cleanup kits starting Tuesday.

The American Red Cross Heartland Chapter is making cleanup kits available to residents in Burt, Washington, Sarpy, and Cass counties. Heartland Chapter spokeswoman Danelle Schlegelmilch says they want to get the kits distributed to flood victims, so they can begin cleanup as soon as it's safe to do so.

Sarpy and Cass county residents can pick up flood cleanup kits at the Bellevue Fire Department Training Center, at 3100 Cornhusker Road. In Washington County, the kits are available at the Sheriff's Department in Blair. Burt County residents can pick up kits at the Community Center in Decatur.

The Missouri River is just above flood stage in Omaha, at 29.5 feet.
