Flooding, power outages after severe weather moves through Omaha

More than 16,000 OPPD customers lost power after severe weather overnight.

Multiple lines of storms brought heavy rain, strong wind, and hail throughout the Omaha metro area. In Bellevue, six inches of rain caused the Big Papio Creek to flood. That closed 36th Street at Highway 370. Flooding was also reported throughout the city of Omaha.

Traffic lights are out in multiple locations. Those intersections should be treated like four-way stops.

The College World Series game Friday night between Ole Miss and Virginia was suspended due to weather. It’ll resume Saturday at 2 pm.

Flood Warnings are in effect along the Missouri River from Blair to Rulo.
