Former City Councilman, Mayoral candidate sets up OMAPAC

By Katie Knapp Schubert

Omaha, NE – A former Omaha Mayoral candidate and City Councilman has created his own Political Action Committee.

Jim Vokal's group is called OMAPAC. Vokal says he set up the PAC to make sure the newly-elected city government is accountable to Omaha taxpayers. He says economic development and taxpayer involvement in government are among the PAC's key issues. Vokal says the city should focus on "keeping Omaha open for business" and attracting young professionals.

Vokal says OMAPAC will have an active role in the community, with meetings, events and social networking. OMAPAC already has a Twitter page and Vokal plans to set up a web site later this week.
