At one time, there was a Husker flavor on the Omaha Storm Chasers roster. Now it’s carrying over to the Kansas City Royals.
Joba Chamberlain and Alex Gordon were college teammates with the Huskers. Now they’re Kansas City Royals teammates after Chamberlain was promoted yesterday. But as thrilled as he is to be back in the big leagues, Chamberlain admits a bitter after-taste from the first college football weekend.
“Your day went from great to really bad as a Husker fan,” said Chamberlain. “But obviously there’s a lot of games left. I wear my Nebraska with pride. We’ll get back at it next week.”
The Royals didn’t wait around to use Chamberlain as he entered the game against Minnesota in the seventh and gave up two runs in the Royals’ 6-2 loss.
