Four consulting firms apply to assist OPS with superintendent search

Omaha, NE – Three Chicago-based firms and a Cedar Rapids, Iowa company have submitted bids for consulting services for the Omaha Public Schools' superintendent search.

The four consultant proposals were opened at a special OPS board meeting Monday afternoon. Hollins Group of Chicago, Ray and Associates of Cedar Rapids, Hazard, Young and Aetta of Rosemont, Illinois, and Proact Search of Wilmette, Illinois, submitted proposals.

Each proposal will be reviewed and evaluated. The OPS board plans to hold a special meeting next Monday to discuss the bids and possibly take action.

The board could spend up to $200,000 dollars on a consultant.

OPS Superintendent Dr. John Mackiel is retiring at the end of this school year after 39 years with the district.
