Four finalists chosen for Omaha Police Chief

The city of Omaha has announced the four finalists for Police Chief.

A nationwide search for Police Chief candidates was conducted following the retirement of Alex Hayes. Two finalists are from within the department. One is Captain Gregory Gonzalez. He’s Southwest Precinct Commander and an Acting Deputy Chief.

The other is Deputy Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, who oversees the Uniform Patrol Bureau operations and budget.

The other two finalists are from Wisconsin and California. Sheboygan, Wisconsin Police Chief Christopher Domagalski was with the Milwaukee Police Department for 18 years. Blair Ulring retired in February as Police Chief in Stockton, California, after serving with that department since 1984.

Interviews are set to begin next week, with a new Police Chief named in August.
