Four finalists have been chosen for Omaha’s next Fire Chief.
Mayor Jean Stothert’s office announced the finalists Thursday. They are Interim Fire Chief Bernard Kanger, Assistant Chief Steve Ausdemore, Assistant Chief Shane Hunter, and retired Battalion Chief Joseph Mancuso.
Ausdemore and Kanger joined the Fire Department in 1991. Hunter has been with OFD since 1997. Mancuso retired from the Fire Department last March.
Kanger has served as Interim Fire Chief since August. An announcement on the new Fire Chief is expected by March 10.
