Future of Wayne business unclear after tornado

WAYNE, Neb. (AP) — Six weeks have passed since a tornado destroyed homes and businesses in Wayne, and some companies still don't know whether they'll reopen.

KTIV-TV in Sioux City reports (http://bit.ly/1j5M3qU ) that executives at Pacific Coast Feather haven't decided whether to rebuild its plant, which the tornado leveled on Oct. 4.

Company executives say they're focused on the cleanup process and the huge about of debris left behind.

At stake are roughly 150 jobs. Wayne Mayor Ken Chamberlain says he hopes the company stays, because it provides high-quality jobs in the northeast Nebraska town.

Other businesses in Wayne have announced plans to rebuild.
