Gale: Ex-MECA member not properly registered

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Secretary of State John Gale says his investigation into the voter registration status of former Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority board member Jaime Gutierrez Mora shows she was not properly registered to vote.

A news release Tuesday from Gale said his investigation show she lives in Bellevue, rather than the Omaha home owned by her husband that she listed on her voter registration form last year.

The investigation was in response to a complaint filed against Gutierrez Mora after questions were raised about whether she lives inside Omaha city limits, as required to serve on MECA's board.

Gutierrez Mora resigned from the MECA board last month. MECA oversees Omaha's CenturyLink Center, TD Ameritrade Park and the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
