GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney wins all five of Nebraska's electoral votes

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Republican Mitt Romney has made sure Nebraska will remain entirely red on this year's political maps by winning the entire state.

Four years ago, Democrat Barack Obama created a blue dot on the electoral maps by winning Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District.

This year, Romney won all five of the state's electoral votes.

Romney's campaign was helped by the fact that Nebraska lawmakers redrew the 2nd District to make it more conservative after the last Census.

And several prominent Nebraska Republicans worked hard to make sure GOP voters made it to the polls.

It probably helped that the Obama campaign didn't seem to try as hard in Omaha this year. The president didn't campaign in Nebraska's largest city, and the campaign opened only one office instead of three.
