Grace University expanding its academic, athletic programs

Omaha’s Grace University is expanding its academic offerings at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

This fall, Grace will offer undergraduate majors in pre-law, communication studies, and English. University President David Barnes says they’re also doubling their graduate-level programs, with the addition of a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Masters Degree in School Counseling.

"The demand for teachers and other people who want to get graduate degrees in education, there’s an increasing interest in that. So Grace is very pleased, and it’s very important that we’re able to step in and offer those programs. On the school counseling side, there’s a shortage, a demand, a need for school counselors."

Barnes says Grace is also expanding its athletic programs with the addition of baseball and women’s soccer. He hopes the new programs will grow the University’s enrollment over the next five years to more than 1,000 students.
