Great Plains Theatre Conference Selects 2014 Playwrights

The Great Plains Theatre Conference recently announced its 2014 Mainstage and PlayLab playwright selections.

The conference is hosted by and takes place at Metropolitan Community College each year.

Scott Working, Associate Artistic Director for GPTC, says the conference will feature 24-30 PlayLab playwright selections and five MainStage plays.

"The PlayLabs are all read together, three at a time.  But the MainStage playwrights receive a little more attention.  They get their play read all by itself with nothing competing with it for time.  And a little bit more rehearsal time too.”

Working says a total of 613 scripts from 46 states and five countries were submitted for the 2014 Great Plains Theatre Conference.

All selections were done through a blind reading process.
