The Greater Omaha Chamber's TSC has started making capital investments in early stage startups

The Startup Collaborative is an on-demand startup accelerator and program of the Greater Omaha Chamber.

Thanks to a collaboration with Murphy Vision Funds, the TSC has started making capital investments in early stage startups.

David Brown, President and CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber, says the initial funding of $300,000, provided by Chris and Betsy Murphy, in partnership with First Westroads Bank, is being matched dollar-for-dollar by Invest Nebraska.

That means there’s a total of $600,000 available.  Brown explains the hope is that this will encourage even more startups to participate in TSC’s on-demand fellowship initiative.

He says without this capital, some of these entrepreneurs’ ideas would go nowhere fast.

"We’ve created this fund in order to focus on those companies that have made it through a pretty rigorous process of getting their companies off the ground, finding customers, selling product to those customers and then now having to put some extra cash in to actually take the product to market.”

Brown says this funding will help companies get their products to market more quickly.

He says every applicant has to go through the 15-step accelerator process. More information is available at Startupcollaborative.co.
