“Growing Cities” is documentary film that focuses on the burgeoning urban agricultural movement.
Andrew Monbouquette, co-producer, writer and director of photography, says he and director Dan Susman traveled over 13,000 miles around the country visiting men and women who are challenging the way the United States produces food.
Monbouquette says even small changes can have a big effect.
"I really hope people get inspired to think about what they themselves can do and I hope they see through the film that it doesn’t have to be much. It can be just as simple as planting some herbs in your back yard that you use to cook with and share with your neighbors.”
Monbouquette says the film takes a lot of far reaching ideas and unites them under the banner of urban farming. “Growing Cities” will be shown tonight at 6:15 at the Omaha Film Festival.
Susman will attend the showing and will be available after the film for a Q&A session. The festival takes place at Village Pointe Theatre.
