Omaha, NE – One of two new Habitat for Humanity houses going up in Council Bluffs is being built in memory of a Von Maur shooting victim.
The John McDonald Memorial Home is located at 1417 Avenue M in Council Bluffs. Habitat Council Bluffs Executive Director Gina Primmer says the idea came about when McDonald's family and friends donated to Habitat in his name. Primmer says that home, and another on Avenue C, will be finished in late April or early May.
Students from the University of Nebraska at Omaha are volunteering at both Council Bluffs Habitat homes, as well as three in Omaha, this week during UNO's Seven Days of Service.
