Hail, heavy rain, strong winds, tornadoes possible Wednesday night and Thursday

The National Weather Service says strong winds, large hail, and flooding are all possible Wednesday night and Thursday in the Omaha metro area.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of southeast Nebraska, including Lincoln, and southwest Iowa until 11pm Wednesday. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday evening. Severe weather is possible Wednesday night and Thursday.

NWS Omaha officials say the area is under a slight risk of severe weather. Hail, strong winds, and flooding are the primary threats, although tornadoes are possible.

Two to three inches of rain or more could fall in the Omaha area.
