Hillary Clinton to visit Omaha Monday, campaign says

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Officials say Hillary Clinton will bring her Democratic presidential campaign to Omaha next week.

Her itinerary for Monday's visit hasn't been released.

Although Nebraska is heavily Republican, the state's 2nd Congressional District — represented by Democrat Brad Ashford in the U.S. House — could provide her an electoral vote. Barack Obama won the 2nd District in 2008, which gave him one of the state's five electoral votes. Only Maine and Nebraska allow some of their electoral votes to be split by congressional districts.

Clinton's Republican opponent, Donald Trump, is scheduled to visit Davenport and Cedar Rapids in Iowa on Thursday. It will be Trump's first events in Iowa since he won the GOP nomination.
