The Holiday Lights Festival kicks off Thanksgiving, November 26th at 6:00 p.m.
Emily Peklo, Project Manager for the Holiday Lights Festival, says Mayor Jean Stothert will light up the Gene Leahy Mall.
Peklo says attendees will enjoy the beautiful lights and have the opportunity to get ready for the holiday season with a free concert.
"So that’s where the countdown to the lighting display happens. 6:00 p.m. we count down the lights, the lights go on and right after that is our ‘Making Spirits Bright’ holiday concert at the Holland Performing Arts Center at 7:00. The concert is with the Nebraska Wind Symphony and our special guest vocalist is Drew Duncan. He has a beautiful voice.”
Peklo says other activities include the Wells Fargo Family Festival on Sunday, December 6th and the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Spectacular.
