Omaha, NE – The Iowa Department of Transportation plans to reopen I-29 south of Council Bluffs Saturday morning.
A news release from IDOT says the Interstate will open at 10am. It's been closed since June because of Missouri River flooding.
IDOT spokeswoman Dena Gray-Fisher says drivers should expect heavy traffic and a crossover at mile post one. The northbound bridge is closed at that location for repairs.
Exits one, at Hamburg, and ten, at Nebraska City, will remain closed due to road damage. Fisher says they hope to have both of those roads repaired and reopened by the end of the year.
Crews are also working to repair I-680 near Council Bluffs, which was destroyed by Missouri River flooding.
Fisher says drivers should expect heavy traffic on the Interstate.
