Inaugural Community Impact Luncheon Set for Nov. 15

The North Omaha Community Care Council will present its first Community Impact Luncheon next month.

Aja Anderson, Community Health Educator for the Douglas County Health Department, says the council has been around since 1996.

Anderson says the purpose of the luncheon is to introduce the council to the community and to highlight some of the work the council has been doing over the years.

She says the luncheon will also spotlight some of the people and businesses that have been assisting the council in their work.

"The North Omaha Community Care Council was founded and is still supported by UNMC.  Its mission is to improve the health and well-being of anyone who is working, living or doing business in North Omaha.  We focus on health and we do a lot of activities with youth.”

The Community Impact Luncheon takes place November 15th from 11:30 to 1:00 at the Swanson Conference Center on the Fort Omaha Campus of Metro Community College.

Former Creighton University basketball star Josh Jones will be the keynote speaker.
