Influential Thought Leader Speaks at Economic Outlook Luncheon

"Omaha: 2035: The Next Big Things" is the theme of this year’s Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Economic Outlook Luncheon.

The lunch takes place Tuesday at the CenturyLink Center Omaha.  Shannon McClure, Director of Research Services for the Greater Omaha Chamber, says the guest speaker is Rebecca Ryan, futurist and influential thought leader.

Ryan’s keynote will focus on the future of cities in the United States.  McClure says Ryan is an entertaining speaker who can be provocative.

"The talk Ryan is going to give is not just about what to expect next year or about specific things you think about with regards to the economy, like unemployment or other measures like that.  She is going to be talking about what Omaha will look like in 2035, based on her research.  So it will be a long range outlook and very customized for Omaha.”

McClure says Ryan’s talk will be based on the research she spent last couple years intensely working on and will cover what economic trends are resonating most in current and future generations.

The Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce Economic Outlook Luncheon takes place from 11:45 to 1:00 Tuesday.
