Inspiration Garden

Alegent Creighton Health dedicated a new garden outside its Cancer Center yesterday.

Dr. Jim Commers, Medical Oncologist with Alegent, says the garden features a fountain, trees, flowers, and a sculpture created by Matthew Placzek.

He says the space was designed for patients and hospital visitors alike.

Dr. Commers says he hopes the new garden will be an adjunct to the physical healing patients receive and will help them better deal with their diagnoses.

"We recognize there’s a lot more to the healing process of people that have cancer or blood disease or really any serious, lasting medical condition that there’s a lot more to their overall healing than that that goes on physically. Mental, emotional and spiritual healing are a big part of the whole process as well.”

The funds for the new Inspiration Garden were raised by the Immanuel Hospital Auxiliary.

Immanuel Medical Center is located at 6901 N. 72nd Street.
