Interim OPS superintendent to receive $275,000 salary

OPS’ interim superintendent will be paid $275,000.

The OPS board approved Virginia Moon’s contract Monday night on an 11-1 vote. Board member Sandra Jensen voted against it. In addition to her $275,000 base salary, Moon will receive a $1,000 per month vehicle allowance, 25 days of vacation, and an annuity equal to 12 percent of her salary.

Moon’s contract was effective as of July 31st. Current superintendent John Mackiel is retiring at the end of this month after 40 years with OPS.
