Iowa West Foundation awards 6.5 million in Grant/Initiative Funding

The Iowa West Foundation recently awarded 6.5 million dollars in grants and initiatives in its most recent cycle.

Pete Tulipana, President & CEO of the Iowa West Foundation, says the foundation awarded an infrastructure grant to the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors for the CITIES program.

Tulipana says four communities in the county received more than $920,000 to upgrade buildings, enhance streetscapes and fix water mains.

He says the foundation also awarded several grants that will be used to enhance quality of life.

"We have a multi-year funding program where we have identified seven human service-related organizations who are receiving a commitment from Iowa West over a number of years for their services in our community along with a commitment from them to participate in a capacity building project for their CEO’s and their Boards of Directors.  And this is the second year of funding.”

Organizations who received funding include Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands, Justice for our Neighbors and the Micah House.  Tulipana says that total commitment is 1.85 million dollars.
