New Orleans jazz, soul, folk, and big band sound will flow from the stage at Omaha’s Turner Park in 2017 when Omaha Performing Arts presents the extraordinarily popular summer series, Jazz on the Green at Midtown Crossing. The free outdoor concerts run six consecutive Thursdays, from July 6th to August 10th, 2017. This year’s line-up features more than 40 musicians bringing high energy performances in jazz, Latin, folk, hip-hop and soul.
Omaha Performing Arts’ free concert series Jazz on the Green at Midtown Crossing continues Thursday, July 20 when The Sugar Thieves bring their American roots sound to Turner Park at Midtown Crossing. The headliner begins at 7:30 PM on stage at Turner Park, 30th and Farnam. The park opens at 5:00 PM with pre-show entertainment starting at 6:30 PM.
American roots group The Sugar Thieves is returning to Jazz on the Green. Featuring the soulful vocals of Omaha native Meredith Moore, the group blends blues, country, folk, gospel, rock and jazz to create a sound that is all its own. The high-energy band has what it takes to move a crowd.
Pre-show entertainment for July 20 is provided by Far & Wide, a youth band from BluesEd, a non-profit youth artist development program sponsored by the Blues Society of Omaha
All Jazz on the Green at Midtown Crossing concerts are open to the public, with no reservations or tickets needed. The lawn at Turner Park opens for seating at 5 PM with preshow entertainment beginning at 6:30 PM and concerts at 7:30 PM.
