Tribute to Luigi Waites scheduled for August 12.By KIOS

The inaugural season of Omaha Performing Arts Jazz on the Green at Midtown Crossing concludes Thursday with a special night of music at its new location, Turner Park at Midtown Crossing, 31st and Dodge Streets. The Jazz on the Green finale will be a fitting tribute to the late Luigi Waites and his impact on the local jazz scene.

Thursday's show will present Luigi, Inc., a five-piece jazz combo with the distinct honor of maintaining one of the longest running gigs in the country, performing over 1,650 consecutive Sundays at Mr. Toad in downtown Omaha. Several special guests will join Luigi, Inc. for the second set and grand finale to pay homage to the talent of the great Luigi Waites.

Also, August 12th will be KIOS night. We will be at Turner Park and look forward to meeting you there.

Thursday's Jazz on the Green at Midtown Crossing starts at 7pm and is open to the public. For more information you may visit http://www.jazzonthegreenomaha.com/
