Jazz Heritage series with The United States Air Force Band Airmen of Note airs Friday

First program will feature The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note. KIOS presents the three-part 2011 Jazz Heritage series with The USAF Airmen of Note and special guests Fridays at 2:00PM July 8 and 15 and 22nd.

The first installment of the series, airing July 8th will feature The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note. The Airmen celebrate their 60th anniversary with a concert featuring some of band's distinguished alumni. The band's remarkable success in community outreach and troop morale has been forged by six decades of world-class jazz musicians, composers and arrangers, many of whom continued on to successful musical careers as civilians.

The Jazz Heritage Concert Series showcases the United States Air Force Airmen of Note with special guests. The Airmen of Note is the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force. It is comprised of eighteen musicians who tour throughout the United States twice a year, one of the few big bands these days to do so, in addition to international and jazz festival performances.

This year's series is guest hosted by Dick Golden.

Tune in for part one of the 2011 Jazz Heritage series with The USAF Airmen of Note Friday afternoon at 2pm on KIOS.
