The final installment of this series, airing June 25th will feature Bassist Rufus Reid. Reid began his career in Chicago before moving to New York in the 1970's. He has traveled, performed and recorded with many of the great jazz masters. They include such luminaries as Gene Ammons, Kenny Dorham, Eddie Harris, Sonny Stitt, Don Byas, Philly Joe Jones, Thad Jones, Mel Lewis, Dexter Gordon, Bill Evans, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, and Art Farmer.

The Jazz Heritage Concert Series showcases the United States Air Force Airmen of Note with special guests. The Airmen of Note is the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force. It is comprised of eighteen musicians who tour throughout the United States twice a year, one of the few big bands these days to do so, in addition to international and jazz festival performances.

This year's series is guest hosted by Dick Golden.

Tune in for part three of the 2009 Jazz Heritage series with The USAF Airmen of Note featuring special guest Rufus Reid Thursday night at 8:00pm on KIOS-FM.
