Jazz Piano Christmas XXI

Christmas classics reinterpreted by four jazz pianists. NPR Music is onstage again at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for another live incarnation of one of the most popular holiday programs on public radio. Every year, NPR invites a handful of great jazz keyboardists to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. They take turns playing their unique renditions of holiday classics for live audiences, and the results are collected for this special program, hosted on stage by NPR's Felix Contreras.

Four pianists were on this year's date, the 21st such event: Renee Rosnes, Kenny Barron, Helio Alves and Freddy Cole, each bring their impeccable jazz piano stylings to the subject of Christmas music. The results are stellar as classic Christmas gems are given fresh new interpretations. Listen to new interpretations of great songs such as "O Tannenbaum", "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas", "Jingle Bells", and others.

NPR Music's A Jazz Piano Christmas, the annual celebration of seasonal music in swing time, will be presented at 8:00pm Christmas Eve on KIOS.
