Beginning Memorial Day weekend, the Joslyn Art Museum will be free of charge year-round.
Executive Director Jack Becker says that’s thanks to a generous grant from the Sherwood Foundation.
He says he is excited to be able to welcome even more people to the museum.
Becker says founder Sarah Joslyn gave the museum to the city with the purpose of serving the entire community as an educational and cultural resource.
"All of those people who’ve been curious but have never come in to the Joslyn Museum, that have always been curious about what goes on in that beautiful pink box on the corner of 24th Street, now get the chance to come in and to realize that this is an institution for the entire community and the entire region. And there should never be an economic barrier to provide access. So I think it’s just a welcoming sense that they can come on in.”
The Joslyn Art Museum is located at 2200 Dodge Street.
